Rating 4.75!!

Book Description: Abandoned as a child and raised in a brothel, Gabriel St. Croix has never known tenderness, friendship or affection. Although fluent in sex, he knows nothing of love. Lost and alone inside a nightmare world, all he’s ever wanted was companionship and a place to belong. Hiding physical and emotional scars behind an icy fa├žade, his only relationship is with a young boy he has spent the last five years protecting from the brutal reality of their environment. But all that is about to change. The boy’s family has found him, and they are coming to take him home. Sarah Munroe blames herself for her brother’s disappearance. When he’s located, safe and unharmed despite where he as been living. Sarah vows to help the man who rescued and protected him in any way she can. With loving patience she helps Gabriel face his demons and teaches him to trust in friendship and love. But when the past catches up with him, Gabriel must face it on his own. Becoming a mercenary, pirate and a professional gambler, Gabriel travels to London, France, and the Barbary Coast in a desperate attempt to find Sarah again and all he knows of love. On the way, however, he will discover the most dangerous journey, and the greatest gamble of all, is within the darkest reaches of his own heart.

My Review: I'm not sure I can say much more than what has already been said about this book. I thought it was great. I want to thank Cindy W and Kristie's for their great reviews which made me want run out and get this book.

I loved reading as Sarah and Gabriel fell love, all the sweet and natural things that happen as people fall in love. My favorite scenes are when Gabe would come through Sarah's bedroom window. The only thing I didn't like was the long separation where Gabe and Sarah were apart for way to long. I understand why the author did it I just felt it was to long. If you a truly like your tortured hero and sweet understanding heroine make sure you pick up Broken Wing as soon as possible you won't be disappointed.

Book Description: Badly shaken after the loss of one of their own, the men and women of Troubleshooters Inc. go up against their most deadly opponents yet —- the clandestine organization called The Agency. Blackmail, extortion, murder: The Agency's black-ops sector will apparently stop at nothing to achieve their objective. But this time they've gone too far and hit too close to home. Led by former Navy SEAL Lawrence Decker, a team of investigators —- from FBI agent Jules Cassidy and former CIA operative Dave Malkoff, to Troubleshooters Sophia Ghaffari, Tess Bailey, and even receptionist Tracy Shapiro —- band together to uncover the truth, and bring the killers to justice. But the stakes are raised even higher when Decker barely escapes an attempt on his life. It soon becomes clear that the hunters have become the hunted —- and the Troubleshooters are no longer just solving a crime -— they're fighting for survival.

My Review: I loved this book!! Suzanne Brockmann is one of my favorite authors. I have been reading her books since Over the Edge came out in 2001. There has been a lot of buzz about the Troubleshooters series, some people are not happy with the direction Ms. Brockmann has take the series. I am not one of those people, I have stuck with the series and have loved every minute of it.
I am very happy with how the Sophia, Dave and Decker storyline was resolved. I was never a huge Decker and Sophia fan. I loved Decker and Tracy!! I was also happy with the explanation of why Decker and Sophia would have never worked. I could go on and on.......

Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Rating 5 stars!!!

Book Description: She's given up on him and moved on...
Susannah finally has a peaceful, calm life and a no-surprises man. Marriage to football superstar Ryan Sanderson was a whirlwind of passion, heat, energy, and excitement, but Susannah got sick of playing second fiddle to his team, watching women throwing themselves at him, and living in terror of the hard hits he took on the field. With their divorce just days from being final, she's already planning a wedding with her new fiance...
He's finally figured out what's really important to him. If only it's not too late...
Ryan has just ten days to convince his soon-to-be ex-wife to give him a second chance. He has just brought home his third championship and his career is at its pinnacle, but during the year of their separation, Ryan's come to realize it doesn't mean anything at all without Susannah...

My Review: I love sport romances. Ryan has 10 days to convince Susannah that she is still in love with him. From the first page you know that Ryan and Susannah are still in love with each.

I loved Ryan he realized that he gave up to soon and he was going to do whatever he had to, to get Susannah back. Susannah was leery in forgiving Ryan. As the story develops you realized how deep Ryan and Susannah's love is and what happen to cause there break up could happen to any couple. After they talk about everything (something they never did) they realize that the root to most of their problems was a lack of communicating. This book made me laugh and cry.

If you are looking for a great contemporary check this out. You don't have to be a sports fan to like this book.

On a side note in the author's acknowledgement page she states that she is a life long Red Sox fan. That makes her a auto-buy author to me :-)

Land of the Falling Stars by Keta Diablo

Rating 4 stars!!

Book Description: Penniless, her parents and brother dead, Sophia Whitfield struggles to save her beloved childhood home during the Civil War. Another bluecoat is staggering down the hill, but before Sophia allows him to rob and pilfer like the others, she shoots him. How is she to know it is Gavin, the dark knight of her youth, carrying secrets too horrific to imagine and a passion that ignites her deepest desires?
As Sophia gradually learns Gavin's secrets-and enjoys his talents in the bedroom-she discovers how to finally know her own heart. Can she save the Land of Falling Stars, or will she lose it all to the horrors of the War and Reconstruction? And will the Southern lady and the Yankee soldier be able to recapture the bliss of their youth - this time in each other's arms?

My Review: I heard about this book over at shelfari.com the author has joined a couple of the groups that I belong to. When she was telling us about her book Land of the Falling Stars it sounded good so I purchase and dowloaded the book (it's only available as an ebook and audio). I love books that take place during the Civil War, you don't see to many books that take during this time period anymore. This also has a hero and heroine who were childhood friends which I also love.

This is a very gripping story. So many things happen to both Gavin and Sophia that it's a miracle that either survived and found there way back to each other. Gavin is tortured by both his secret and his feelings for Sophia. Sophia is confused about her feelings and not wanting Gavin to be with her out of pity. I don't want to give to much away. This is a really good story and I highly recommend it to anyone who like historicals with steam. You can purchase this book at ravenousromance.com

Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare

Rating 4.5!!!

Book Description: It's been years since her child's father dumped her, and since then investigative reporter Kara McMillan has kept men at bay—although every day she aches more for a lover's touch. But to get that, the hard-boiled journalist must become vulnerable—a feeling she vowed never to have again.
With his dangerous good looks, charm, and power, Senator Reece Sheridan could have just about any woman he sets his piercing eyes on. But he’s intrigued by only one. This Kara, this gutsy investigative reporter, has a sensuality that arouses him to no end. If she’s a firebrand in print, he guesses, she must be just as fiery in bed…
But this is no fling. A sudden political scandal—and attempts on Kara's life—could very well drive them apart. Or maybe, just maybe, adversity could draw them into a bond even more intense than their steamy sexual embraces…

My Review: I have discovered that I love hero/heroines that are involved in politics. The first book I read where the hero was a politician was Someone to Believe In by Kathryn Shay, which is one of my favorite books.
I have heard such great things about Pamela Clare and now I can see why. I loved this book. Reece is a great hero and Kara is a strong independent heroine. Together they were hot!!
I loved how the love story of Reece and Kara were separate from the mystery and then everything came together at the end. If you haven't tried Pamela give her a try!! I can't wait to read the rest of this series and move on to her historicals.
