Reader's Block

Has anyone ever had readers block?? When every book you pick up you just can't get into it. I picked up The Raven Prince and have read nothing, but great things about this book. So how come I just can't get into it?? I have also tried to start Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard, but the same thing happen. Maybe I just need a break.

What about everyone else? What do you do when nothing is appealing to you?

I watch a few chick flicks then come back to my books, it always works!

I'm in the midst of that right now *heavy sigh* A recent book ;-) was so good, I just can't seem to really enjoy anything else.
So *shrugging shoulders* I'm now reading that book again for the fourth time.
I've never liked slumps 'cause reading is such a part of who I am, if I'm not in the mood for reading - a part of me is missing.
But when it does happen, I just watch more TV - and then *laughing* find a new obsession in TV

I've gone through this from time to time and it's never any fun because you're waiting for that one book to just bring you out of your reading slump and sometimes it doesn't come for a long time.

I recommend rereading a favorite of yours to get you back in the mood. If you don't want to do that, then how about reading a book from a favorite author that you haven't read yet. This usually works for me.

I usually try to re-read a favorite. If that doesn't work I try an anthology, because a lot of times a few short stories will do what a full length can't.

Sometimes I take a break from reading for a few days and watch t.v. or do something else to take my mind off of it. You might just need a day or two to regroup before getting your groove back.

Wish you lots of luck!

P.S. I've been reading your blog for ages and ages. =)

Thank-you everyone for your tips. I'm out of my funk. I read A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas. It was a quick easy read.
