Book Description:
With a bum knee, Nikki’s days of restaurant work are numbered, so she’s set her sights on becoming a private chef. But her trial run with magazine editor Jay Buchannan comes with some strange conditions-like pretending to be his girlfriend. If that’s not bad enough, trying to please Jay’s picky palate has Nikki running to Malibu & Ewe for a little stress relief-and to put some space between her and his perfectly toned body. As for Jay, he’s given up women for the year-but finds himself drawn to the kitchen, where he’s intrigued by his sexy cook’s ability to withstand the heat between them. He thinks it’s time to turn up the flames….

Review:

This is a new trilogy from Christie Ridgway. I have read a couple of her books before and have always enjoyed them. This book was just okay for me. There was too much going on; there were a couple second story lines that in my opinion were underdeveloped. The chemistry between Nikki and Jay was hot. Jay is a great hero, he acts like a guy and thinks like a guy. When he realizes that he is in love with Nikki you really feel it with him. Nikki is a good heroine you really feel what she went through when she was a teenager and the emotional problems she has as an adult. I'm not going to say anything else; I don't want to give any spoilers. I will check out the 2nd book in the series when it comes out.
My rating is 3.5 pretty good, not great!
